Disney Hires BUPP & HESS

(Lake Buena Vista, FL – March 10, 2024)

After a rigorous application and interview process, the prestigious Disney College Program (DCP) has chosen seniors Jared Bupp and Ryan Hess to join a corps of international recruits at the Walt Disney World Resort in June – hardly a month after their anticipated PennWest graduation.

Established in 1981, the exclusive program is prized for its opportunities to learn from and network with Disney executives and leaders. Only 20% of this year’s 50,000 applicants were selected. “The interview focuses on storytelling,” recalled Bupp. “Recruiters want you to try to relate each question to a story you have about an experience with the Walt Disney Company.”

“It has been a dream of mine since I was a kid,” continued Bupp, “to create pictures that inspire others to dream big. I hope this work opportunity opens the door for me to move up in the company and to eventually work in feature film production with them.”  DCP job assignments are designed to build transferable skills like problem solving, collaboration, and effective communication.

“I’m so excited!” enthused Hess. “To work with the company that’s inspired me to drive my talents toward filmmaking is truly an honor. Behind the camera or the keyboard, this opportunity is truly one that nobody should take for granted. I’m confident that it’s a necessary step in the path to my career as a filmmaker.”

Update May 01, 2024:  Image-making skills acquired in PennWest’s Philm program ably equip Bupp and Hess for their positions as PhotoPass Photographers in the parks’ operations division.
