The International Photography Hall of Fame (IPHF) has announced winners of its 2023 Open Photography Competition. PennWest Photography instructor Natasha Kravchenko will be included as an exhibiting artist. Works will be showcased as an online collection through March 15, 2024.
Juror Joyce Tenneson (lauded by American Photo Magazine as one of the ten most influential women in the history of photography) worked with IPHF curators Greg Barth, Michael Daft, Richard Sprengeler, and Carl Valle to carefully consider both individual images and collections, taking special consideration of thematic and perspectival cohesion.
Of her work, Kravchenko said, “Psychology is one of my leading inspirations. By learning and immersing myself in the study of various psychological theories and biographies of famous psychologists and psychiatrists, I’m seeking answers and inspiration for myself. I want to understand what binds people from within and controls their true nature, what urges people to fight with themselves every day and every moment.” She tries to reflect their feelings through the prism of her research.
