The Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Association welcomed students from around the world to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for the nation’s largest gathering of college journalists, media students, and their advisors. Philm student KT Reihner joined a delegation of attendees from PennWest Edinboro.
For four days, students chose from among hundreds of sessions and workshops in journalism, filmmaking, and photography. In addition to the prominent speakers addressing large groups, students accessed practical critiques of their work as well as focused tutorials in personal marketing and job search strategies.
Attendees shared their own work, networking with national and global peers at the conference’s Media Zone, showcase for a comprehensive array of mass communication forms. A stand-out among participating schools, Edinboro Communications professor Ron Raymond won the distinguished advisor award at a ceremony on day three of the conference.
Representatives of Warner Brothers, CNN, B&H photo video, ieiMedia, were among those companies represented at the conference’s four-day trade show. Corporate employers, recruiters, and vendors, promoted products and jobs of interest to student journalists, as did graduate programs like Temple University‘s Master of Journalism degree. The trade show also highlighted internships and study abroad opportunities.
