G15 Acoustics Improving

(Edinboro, PA – July 5, 2023)

This summer, Edinboro maintenance crews are installing custom acoustic panels in Doucette’s G15 Production Studio.  The panels will reduce reverb in one of the program’s hardest-working instructional facilities.  Over several phases, additional panels will be added, with the eventual target of a half-second echo.  Meeting the industry’s metric for professional audio spaces is expected to raise the quality of student exercises and films produced in the cavernous sound stage.  It will also enhance instruction in ART 4005, Digital Audio for the Moving Image, offered every odd spring semester.  PennWest is working with Acoustical Solutions in Virginia to cover most of the studio’s wall space with AlphaSorb fabric wrapped panels, color-matched to 18% photographic gray.
