“The most surprising thing I’ve learned so far is just how much school has prepared me for the professional space,” says senior Philmmaker Mark Wilton. “The editing and the organization that goes with it has been very comparable to the work we did in class.”
Wilton is spending the summer as an Assistant Editor for the Pittsburgh Film Office (PFO). He’s making videos to attract productions to the greater southwestern Pennsylvania region. “I’m currently working on a video that showcases the Make-Up Artists & Hairstylist Guild here in Pittsburgh.” Future projects include interview pieces featuring video and audio crew members. Wilton’s promotional work will be posted to PFO social media sites in the fall.
“I get to make my own hours,” Wilton continues, saying his “goal is to have 150 hours by the end of the summer.” An internship in Digital Filmmaking & Photography (ART4205) counts toward the degree as an Advanced Study Keystone course.
